I love watching movies in full screen. Who doesn’t?! Unfortunately my Dell Inspiron 1501 could not handle YouTube videos while in full screen mode. Today I decided that I must find a solution to fix this problem.
I am a lucky guy! I have found one and here I am sharing it with you!
Basically, the problem was not my computer..
Here’s what you’ll have to do if you have the same problem as I had:
1. Go to youtube.com and open up a video.
2. Right click anywhere in the video and click on “settings”
3. Uncheck “enable hardware acceleration”
4. Enjoy full scree videos!
No more “Display driver stopped responding and crashed” for us!

Some people like www, some not. I recommend to use only one of the versions, www or non-www.
Here are some codes you can add to your .htaccess file to set up the friendly (301) redirects.
Redirect www to non-www:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
Redirect non-www to www:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
None of these versions is better than the other. It is a matter of… I dunno… taste?
I like to use the www one if my domain name is a short one, if it is longer, I use the none-www one.

I wanted to install a Facebook application on a new VPS server but I got this error message:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘Facebook needs the JSON PHP extension

Basically, what we need is to install the JSON PHP extension.
Here is how to do that.
Step one: run this command: pecl install json
When it’s done you should have a json.so file in your PHP modules directory. This directory should be /usr/lib/php/modules/
Step two: Add the json.ini file to /etc/php.d/ – to enable the extension add extension=json.so to this file
Step three: Restart Apache
Keep in mind that without restarting, the extension won’t be loaded.
That’s all folks!

“He who breaks a resolution is a weakling; He who makes one is a fool.”
- F. M. Knowles, A Cheerful Year Book

Every new year we make resolutions to change aspects of ourselves we believe are negative. However, most of us revert to how we were before and feel like failures. This year I challenge you to a new resolution. I challenge you to develop whatever is positive in you, and I am sure there is a lot, I mean A LOT.
I wish you good luck on that and a happy new year!

“You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.”

As the parish priest of a little village called St Martin in the French Pyrenees was getting ready to celebrate Mass one Christmas Eve, he began to smell a wonderful fragrance. It was winter, and the flowers had disappeared a long time before, yet there was the pleasant smell of springtime floating through the air.
Intrigued, he decided to go outside and look where the smell was coming from and across a young boy sitting in front of the school door. Next to him was a golden Christmas tree.

A few days ago I have found a nice script that will help you increase your Twitter followers number. It is called “Twitter Blaster – Twitter Promotion Tool“.
Twitter Blaster is a PHP script that will bring viral traffic to your site, using the Twitter network.
The script worked fine prior to the new twitter policy that asks webmasters to use secure API authentication (oAuth) for users to connect to their twitter accounts but now, it is.. useless.
I had some time available and I decided to fix the script. Unfortunately it was impossible to “fix” it, I had to write a new code.
Here is a demo of the version made by me. (You can see the old version here.)
If you are interested to get a copy of the new version of this script feel free to contact me here.

Web design has evolved dramatically in the last twenty years. Where websites were once just means of relaying information in a rather basic way, websites have now become elaborate works of art, with as much care and attention taken upon the design of a website as the content within it. But having a well-designed website is not just a way for a company to ‘show off’; an attractively designed website can increase a company’s reputation and, most importantly, increase traffic to it. Each element of the web design can help to attract, or put off, visitors.
A visitor’s first impression of a website is extremely important. With there being over 180 million websites on the Internet, if a customer doesn’t like what they see within a few seconds of viewing a website, they can easily find another one that offers a similar service. Therefore it’s vital ...

There is a new method to verify your site with Google webmaster tool. Until today, we had to add a meta tag, HTML file or a DNS record to our site for verification, but now, if you are using Google Analytics, then with same java script code you can also verify in webmaster tool.

You can now use a Google Analytics JavaScript snippet to verify ownership of your website. If you already have Google Analytics set up, verifying ownership is as simple as clicking a button.
This only works with the newer asynchronous Analytics JavaScript, so if you haven’t migrated yet, now is a great time. If you haven’t set up Google Analytics or verified yet, go ahead and set up Google Analytics first, then come verify ownership of your site. It’ll save you a little time — who doesn’t like that? Just as with all of our other verification methods, the Google Analytics ...

And in case you own an e-commerce website, it is even more complicated because now you don’t need just readers, you want buyers. Meaning, you need targeted traffic.
I know many people who pay lots of cash for links and advertisement. While this might be a good solution, it involves a high investment. But with some simple onsite optimization you can reduce your expenses to a large extent and can rank easily in search engines for less competitive keywords.
Here are some important onsite SEO tips (Search Engine Optimization Tips):
One of the most important things that you MUST optimize is your site’s Title and meta Description.

El Caminito del Rey (English: The King’s pathway) is a walkway, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to El Camino del Rey. In 1901 it was obvious that the workers of the Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide transport of materials, vigilance and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway took four years; it was finished in 1905. In 1921 the king Alfonso XIII crossed the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce and it became known by its present name.

I was curious to find out if I can find myself online. Of course, “let’s Google it” was my first thought. Then, I have found an easier way to search for people. People search is extremely easy if you use kgbpeople.
They will search on search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, News, Blogs, Wikipedia), social networks (Twitter, LinkedIn, Naymz, Jigsaw) and many Photo/Video/Audio sites and will return the results in an easy to read format. Your search can be country targeted or worldwide.
Now the results. I have found myself in many places. First of them was Twitter. My latest tweets are displayed on kgbpeople if I click the <plus> sign, it’s inside the twitter row. Cool! I have also found myself via facebook and many more. I don’t want to disclose everything here. Go try it.
As far as I can see the site is pretty well known, there are 950 ...

Dear all,
If you are in the domain marketing you already know about Sedo, if not, check their site here. This post will be on their category showcase stuff.
I am working with Sedo for a few years now. They were good and used to intermediate decent sales for me. If you ask me, one of the most important factors of their success (and implicitly mine) was the fact that they used to list the ending auctions on their homepage, this way they were exposing those ending auctions to many potential clients. However, this no longer happens. They no longer list ending auctions on their homepage.
The result: most of the domains/websites are sold for less because there are less bidders.
I have tested their Category Showcase to. After I paid them to showcase my domain on 3 different categories and a month passed, here are the results:

Today, I was fighting with the SexyBookmarks wordpress plugin. I installed it on one of my sites but faced some issues.
My first problem was that my icons list did not want to expand. Something blocked the animate-expand multi-lined bookmarks function. After a few minutes of checking and testing I have found out that my WordPress theme (Styleicious 1.12) had a java script that was in conflict with SexyBookmarks.

This is the piece of code I am talking about:
<script type="text/javascript">
var rbet_engine=’<?php echo get_bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/rbet_engine.php’;
var wp_url=’<?php echo get_option(‘home’); ?>’;
var wp_theme_adr=’<?php echo get_bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>’;
var uses_mod_rewrite=true;
</script>
I decided to remove it. My theme is still working and.. finally, SexyBookmarks is acting as it should.
OK. That’s nice, but I still had my second issue. The width of the icon’s list was to big and did not fit in the page. I had the content (post text) on it’s place but my SexyBookmarks were deep down, close to ...

Authorities in China are expected to discuss the object with a “bright comet-like tail,” that was seen by a flight crew preparing for descent. Residents also said they saw the UFO emitting red and white rays of light.

According to GoDaddy, by default, ionCube support is not enabled on their Linux hosting accounts, but you can enable it.
Note: Windows hosting accounts do not support ionCube.
This is how to install ionCube on GoDaddy hosting:
1. Download the compressed Linux x86 binary file from ionCube’s site.
2. Create a new folder into the root and name it ioncube. Unarchive the compressed file and upload it into the newly created folder.
3. Now go back to the root of your hosting account and search for a php.ini or php5.ini file. If there is no such file, create it. If you are running PHP5, create a php5.ini file, otherwise create a php.ini file.
4. If you already had a php dot ini file search for [Zend], if not, add the text [Zend] to the top of the file.

The World Cup will have a new winner on Sunday after Spain beat Germany (1-0) to set up a mouthwatering clash with the Netherlands. Spain’s hero was Barcelona defender Carles Puyol as his 73rd minute header secured his country’s first ever World Cup final. (CNN)
I am not a big soccer fan but I think Spain will win the championship, experience wise they are really good. In fact, both teams have experience. Spain played impressively well this entire tournament. It’s also been fun to watch.
It will be a close game with the Netherlands.

Paul the ‘Psychic’ octopus predicts Spain to win World Cup.
The German zoo animal also predicted a win for Germany against Uruguay in the third place match. He has so far correctly forecast every World Cup game involving the national team.
The tip for Spain was his first for a game not involving Germany.

Today I’ve been walking a lot! I just came home and by mistake or not, I’ve found this video. N’Joy!
This film is about the way you see more when you walk – in this case, the way you look at road signs. I didn’t drive anywhere to shoot any of these road signs. Most of them I walked to and one of them was in Norway and turned out to be quite a long walk especially carrying a camera.
The music is by Marc Folan and the voiceover is Paul Berczeller. If you like the video then why don’t you take some shots of some road signs, make your own one and upload it.

Rule One – You will receive a body.
You may love it or hate it, but it will be yours for the duration of your life on Earth.
Rule Two – You will be presented with lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called “life”. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or hate them, but you have designed them as part of your curriculum.
Rule Three – There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of experimentation, a series of trials, errors and occasional victories. The failed experiments are as much as a part of the process as the experiments that work.
Rule Four – The lesson is repeated until learned.
Lessons will be repeated to you in various forms until you have learned them. When you have learned them, you can go on to the ...

One Art
The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster,
Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.
I lost my mother’s watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three beloved houses went.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.
I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.
– Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing’s not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) a disaster.

Mens sana in corpore sano (a healthy mind in a healthy body) is a famous Latin quotation, often translated as “A sound mind in a sound body.” It is derived from Satire X of the Roman poet Juvenal (10.356). In context, the phrase is part of the author’s answer to the question of what people should desire in life, the answer consisting of a long list of things.

It is to be prayed that the mind be sound in a sound body.
Ask for a brave soul that lacks the fear of death,
which places the length of life last among nature’s blessings,
which is able to bear whatever kind of sufferings,
does not know anger, lusts for nothing and believes
the hardships and savage labors of Hercules better than
the satisfactions, feasts, and feather bed of an Eastern king.
I will reveal what you are able to give yourself;

On one of the blogs that published this poem I have found this text:
Apparently Charlie Chaplin wrote the following poem on his 70th birthday on April 16, 1959.
Another one wrote:
In sep 18, 2007, I started a research on this text attributed to Chaplin in Brazilian sites and I discovered this:
-In 2001, Kim & Alison McMillen published the book “When I loved myself enough” (You can see the book in this site: Amazon.com, you can read some pages online)
-In 2003, Iva Sofia G Lima (Brazilian) translated this book into “Quando me amei de verdade”, (Editora Sextante), with the correct credits.
-The text “Quando me amei de verdade” started to be attributed to Chaplin by Brazilian or Portuguese speakers “Chaplin fans”, on their blogs, orkut profiles, orkut communities, and other web services, moreover, it started to be modified by the fans. I suspect this occurs

I make a living out of this; I have many websites I have created for myself and for my customers. I have “repaired” sites made by others, installed a lot of scripts, etc.
I am also buying and selling websites and domains.
I remember once I had a site up for sale. I got an offer and started an auction. Everything was OK until the last day of the auction when my hosting suddenly died. I called my hosting company many times telling them that I will lose a lot of money because of them. They didn’t really ...

The Indonesian Mimic Octopus, Thaumoctopus mimicus. This fascinating creature was discovered in 1998 off the coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia, the mimic octopus is the first known species to take on the characteristics of multiple species. This octopus is able to copy the physical likeness and movement of more than fifteen different species, including sea snakes, lionfish, flatfish, brittle stars, giant crabs, sea shells, stingrays, jellyfish, sea anemones, and mantis shrimp. This animal is so intelligent that it is able to discern which dangerous sea creature to impersonate that will present the greatest threat to its current possible predator. For example, scientists observed that when the octopus was attacked by territorial damselfishes, it mimicked the banded sea snake, a known predator of damselfishes.

This video shows an octopus disguising itself as a flounder. Marine Biological Laboratory senior scientist Roger Hanlon talks to James Williams about the eight-armed impersonator.

The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Here are some of the best natural antioxidant sources:
Cloves (ground), 314,450 TAC
Cinnamon (ground), 267,540 TAC
Oregano (dried), 200,130 TAC
Turmeric (dried), 159,280 TAC
Acai, 102,700 TAC
Everything that exceeds 100,000 TAC units per 100 g food, is called “super food”.
Yesterday I saw something interesting – spy cameras. One of them looks like a nice doll. You can put her anywhere in the house and nobody will even suspect what’s inside. Another one looks like a clock, again, nobody will suspect that the clock is spying.
What are these hidden spy cameras good for? – you might ask.
Well, there are people who suspect their partners and, by installing one of these little cameras, they can monitor what is happening inside the house, in a specific room.
These cams are good alternatives for security cameras to. Everyone knows how a security camera looks but these are hidden and hard (if not impossible) to spot. A robber could not avoid them and you could have his face recorded on a tape or your computer’s hard drive.
In this post I wrote about two cameras that I found ingenious but there are many more. If you ...

I have a website where I publish auction related articles. Yesterday I published an article on online car auctions.
I always do some research work before writing an article. This is how I found a few car auction websites.
I can’t believe what they have there! I saw my favorite, Chevy Tahoe, for a really good price. Most of these cars are government seized and they are selling them for whoever offers the highest price. Usually they start from a really low price.
Just take a look at this picture:

This is how it looks inside:

Unfreakin’ believable! Lot’s of space and comfort. Looks great!
Another car I like a lot is the mid-size pickup truck, GMC Canyon. This one is a bit more expensive in online auctions (I am not sure why) but still, the price is better than buying from an auto-hause.

Government seized car auctions are probably the secret behind why some ...

Today I had a great day! I was out with a friend of mine.. you know, hangin’, trying to relax in a rainy day. Unfortunately, it was kinda boring so I thought that it is time for me to leave. I wanted to go home and put on some movie. He insisted that if I want to go home I should try the best online casino, it is better than a movie. I had no idea what’s this gambling thing about but he kept telling me that it is fun. In the next minute we were heading to some place where they have those gambling machines. I am not a big fan of them to be honest, but still, I thought “oh crap, why not? Let`s give it a try, maybe it’s gonna be fun”.
So.. I am there. Face to face with that strange machine with lots of ...

I have a friend who is a big gambler. Yesterday he told me that he bought some bingo tickets and he is about to win lots of cash. He seemed to be sure. This bingo he bought tickets for is on TV, each week. Many people spend a lot of money on tickets, hoping to win the jackpot. Unfortunately, 99% of them do not succeed in this journey. That’s why I never spend my money on this kind of things. I prefer to invest them in my own business. The ROI percentage is much higher.
This friend of mine is a roulette player to. He is hoping to get the big roulette bonus. Well, I wish him good luck but there is only one problem. Getting it is one thing and keeping it is another. He did win it once in the past but he continued to play and ...

Love is the answer (Barbra Streisand).
If love is the answer, could you rephrase the question? (Lily Tomlin).
Love IS the answer, but while you’re waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty good questions. (Woody Allen)
True love is like seeing ghosts; we all talk about it, but few of us have ever seen one. (La Rochefoucauld)
It is impossible to love and be wise. (Francis Bacon)
All you need is love. (John Lennon)
Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is. (Diane Ackerman)
How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? (Albert Einstein)
Dance me to the end of love (Leonard Cohen)

As you already know, the author of a post can be displayed by using this Template Tag. This tag must be used within The Loop.
WordPress recommends the following usage:
This post was written by <?php the_author(); ?>
The result will be:
This post was written by someguy
Some of the guys are using:
<?php the_author_link(); ?>
The 1st one will display the username, nothing else. The 2nd one will add link to the users posts list. None of these is what I needed.
I wanted to have it like this:
This article was written by Joseph Szenasi on xxx.
Here is the code I came up with:
This article was posted by <?php if (get_the_author() == 'Joseph') {
echo '<a href="http://www.josephszenasi.com" target="_blank">Joseph Szenasi</a>';
}
else
{
echo get_the_author();
}
?> on <?php the_time(__('F jS, Y', 'default')) ?>.
Replace Joseph with your username and my website’s URL with yours. Contact me if you need help.
Good luck!

Then, some of the guys where walking around brushing their teeth..
I saw myself being one of them.. walking around while brushing my teeth..
Then.. my mobile phone is ringing!
Once again the magic word came into my mind. WTF?! My phone is working??? Yesterday they told me that it’s going to take A FEW DAYS to fix it!

Jumped out of the bed right into the chair that was sitting in front of my computer. Dialed my number from yahoo messenger and.. GOSH! It IS working!

So.. I started my day with fat ladies who brought my signal back.

BuddyPress doesn’t look like a perfect script to me, it has some missing parts.. One of these extremely important parts is the option to moderate new user registration (check them for spam).
Anyways, I am not going to waste your time with stories so, here’s what you have to do (or pay me to do it ). This will allow you to be the one who receives the activation e-mail instead of the user. After you check the new profile you can click the activation link or just forward it to the new user.

Back up everything! Yeah, your entire server, that`s a good thing to do at least once a month!
Open up wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-signup.php
Go to line 524, you should see this:
$to = apply_filters( 'bp_core_activation_signup_user_notification_to', $user_email );
In the above piece of code replace $user_email with $admin_email or ‘youremail@yourserver.com’
Now, 3 lines below that you have:
$message = apply_filters( 'bp_core_activation_signup_user_notification_message', $message );

Replace that line ...

I have a client who installed BudyPress and since then the mail() function stopped working. SMTP could not connect neither. I had to look into BudyPress’ code to find the problem.
Here is a fast fix for this issue:

Open up wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-filters.php (back up everything you edit, you can never know..)
Go to line 29, you should see this code:
return apply_filters( 'bp_core_email_from_address_filter', __( 'noreply', 'buddypress' ) . '@' . $domain[2] );

A fast fix is this:
return apply_filters( 'bp_core_email_from_address_filter', __( 'noreply', 'buddypress' ) . '@yoursite.com' );

Replace yoursite.com with your site’s URL.
It should work now.

Sensation is an indoor dance-event which originated in the Netherlands and organized by ID&T. The original event, which ran exclusively in the Amsterdam ArenA for a period of five years until 2005, is now located throughout Poland, Spain, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, Denmark, Lithuania, Portugal and Brazil.
